Dave Sennerud is a communications professional with over two decades of combined experience as a journalist and journalism instructor seeking full-time opportunities in which he can employ his writing, editing and multimedia skills. He combines passion for journalism, old-school news values and knowledge of a variety of today's requisite online and social tools.
As a journalist, Sennerud worked as writer / editor at two suburban Chicago newspaper chains and as a copy editor at the Rockford (Ill.) Register Star. His work has also appeared in the Toledo City Paper, the Chicago Sun-Times, the Jacksonville (Fla.) Journal, the Florida Times-Union, the Beloit (Wisc.) Daily News and the Iowa City Press-Citizen.
He is currently in his fifth year as a full-time journalism instructor at Bowling Green State University. He has previously taught at Ohio Univerity and at Hononegah High School in Rockton, Ill. He has presented at numerous journalism workshops and directed Ohio University's Summer Journalism Workshop in 2009.
Sennerud received his bachelor's degree in journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. In addition, he holds a M.Ed. from the University of Southern Mississippi, and completed his coursework toward a Ph.D. in Communication at Ohio University.
The Chicago native currently resides just outside Toledo in Maumee, Ohio.
